To celebrate the release of Frances' latest album How High The Moon in the USA and Canada on 7 June 2005 on Koch Records, a contest had been organized.

As Frances celebrated her birthday on 25 June, we gave away prizes to whoever wrote the most original, funny or touching birthday wish for Frances. Frances received all birthday messages and choose the winners from them.

Here are the winners:

* A Newbridge Silver Clock and Photo Frame (combined) - Mark Spencer Turner
* One of three copies of How High the Moon - Louise Mahaffy, Jackie Tharp, Sandi Distel
* One of three copies of The Best of Frances Black - Sue Pereira, Thomas Brennan, Julie Brearley/Carole George
* One of five photographs of Frances - everyone else who entered is getting a signed photo.

As you can see, Frances was so delighted with the messages, she decided to give everyone who participated a prize. To receive your prize, please e-mail your postal address to francesblackpr@eircom.net, as Andrea will be taking care of sending out the prizes.

She also asked me to publish the following message:

Just a message to say thanks to everyone who entered the birthday competition. I decided to give a prize to everyone who entered as I loved every single one of the entries, and had a really hard time choosing between them. Mark gave me the entries on my birthday and it made my day really special - I was really touched by the time and trouble that you all took to send me your birthday wishes.
